when shopping today at the after-christmas sale i saw a hat in a store called indiska. the hat had an ugly brim, but the pattern was exactly what i want for my next planned project: to knit a hat for myself. so we'll see if i can figure this one out...

found from my jazz piano teacher in Prague. nice calm french jazz. i had to transcribe track two après la plui as homework so that's the song i know the best and hence the song i like the best. melancholic accordion with a nice jazz backdrop and an accomanying trumpet playing a nice second part. like walking through paris a misty, drizzley night...

when winter comes my father starts wearing his rättviksmössa. the pattern is from the village rättvik in sweden and the hat he has is knit by my aunt. it has his name knit into the brim. I'm planning on borrowing the pattern from my aunt and making an atempt soon. need to find some thin yarn first...

shoes. my shoes.

heels/flipflops. strange mix no? i guess they're more slip-ons than flip-flops.

i actually have never worn these. i got them from my mother when she understood
that you can't walk in them. note: you can't walk in them.... but they're cool!

not comfortable, but which shoes are? they look nice anyway. formal and casual.

cheap cheap (hence really uncomfortable) but hey, they're gold!

bought in prague. actually my second most comfortable pair after my sneakers.
for real, i could sleep in these. bad quality though, they won't last long...

when in prague i was introduced to a piece of music, and i even got to play the first movement. this music puts together the things i love most in classical music:
clarinet (my favorite instrument)
cello (my second-favorite instrument)
piano (this means that i can partake in the fun)
good melody
and these different components playing in octaves.

the internet is a wonderful place. i thought i knew it well, but now that i've discovered the knitting part it feels like i've discovered a whole new continent. how could i knit before the internet? or wait, was i even born before the internet? ^^

i found it. last time i checked on topshop's webpage they said it was out of stock. but now, when i looked again, there it was!! and in 5 working days it will be mine!! yes!

my favorite shoes. formal/casual you name it. =)

they work for everything. this is why i love them. i'm one of those cowards who, to avoid extreme overdressing or underdressing, dress for the middle. i take the safe path and wear things that can be seen as both formal and casual. and then i bring jewelry in two nuances: fancy and causal. and then i spice up my attire more if needed or dress it down. this results in me never actually actually being right on the mark. some day i will dare dress up... the purse i wrote about earlier is my first really daring move. with all that glitter it will be hard to pass it off as casual, but if i were to wear jeans with it.....


sigh, some day i will dare dress up, but not in the near future.

shoes. beyond retro.

while on my desperate search for my clutch i happened by a very interesting store. situated in the middle of a very trendy mall on the main shopping street in stockholm i found a second-hand store. ok, expensive for being second-hand, but an amazing experience. they took the whole idea of second-hand to another level. the store was well organized and big (there was space between the isles). and trendy! well, not all of the things in the store of course, but the whole feeling.

i ran into my cousin in town today. he was stressed and had his key-fiddle on his back. like usual. =)
i've been listening to his cd constantly since i got it (just last week, at his release concert). i forgot to give him a compliment about it though. my bad.
about the release concert: wow! I knew he was good, but still... even if he wasn't my cousin i would still like his music and respect his musicality. (note: i might be biased though, he is one of my biggest idols)
his group is called Nordic.

calm and true. she always seems to sing from her heart.
this song creates a mood that makes me weak at my knees.
she sways my heart and appeals to my ears.

my room-mate last year listened a lot to her, so i had to listen too, and i got hooked.
her sound is special, she has a pretty masculine voice, and does not always fit into the stereotypical category "good".
but the feeling is... magical.
